Yep, that is a Killdeer nest. Good eye...they can be hard to spot.

Good point Louise. Just seen an advertisement for it and thought it might be easier to apply but can see where martins would be tempted to try eating them. That would not be good.

I would also be very interested in what other nothern ohio landlords have to say. I know that I have only ever seen one in my lifetime while walking along a river in NW ohio. It was huge. It was all coiled up in some tall grass as I almost stepped on it. Scared the sh_ _ out of me!

I know how you feel Sharon. This is my first year trying and kinda have the same situation. I had my first ASY male show up a week after Easter. He attracted a female 4 days later and I thought all was looking great as she actually stayed for 4 days. Then we had some crappie weather for about a week...
