I went down to the Oklahoma City roost tonight to see if the martins were still roosting down there. The numbers are probably down from what Shelly Harris first saw a couple of weeks ago but still plenty of martins to put on quite a show. The martins are using two sycamores and the building itself at the Oklahoma Asthma and Allergy Clinic at N.E. 13th and Phillips. This is the location that Shelly reported on earlier. I also happened to stumble on one more location that the birds are using. Several thousand are roosting in three sycamores in the parking lot of the Sylvan Goldman Oklahoma Blood Institute at the southwest corner of N.E. 10th and Lincoln. These locations are all part of the OU Medical Center Complex just northeast of downtown Oklahoma City and just south of our state capitol building. If you live anywhere near Oklahoma City and you have yet to experience a roost you need to do yourself a favor and partake of the birds before they are gone for the year. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Made it downtown and what a site. I think the numbers are up tonight beings the weather cleared and warmed back up.

Medflight helicoptor came in and sturred them up just before sunset. What a sight. I noticed they like the east side of the building and the Trees. The limbs was just loaded with PMs. I noticed most are fledglings and female for what I could tell.

Probably go back and get some pictures, looks like they will show up good on the light colored brown building at low light conditions I hope. Got down there about 8:15. I could see the other roost site, but they were settled in by the time I got up there. I could hear them though.
