In search the net, I am finding some martin sites saying Sevin kills blowflys and some places that say it doesn't.
I know I did a nest change on Monday and had 40-50 huge gorged blowflyies. I put a little sevin under the wooden nest box tray. Today (2 days after first nest change), I have another 40-50 blowfly larvae...but the larvae are smaller today.
would like to get rid of these larvae. the birds armpits are pretty red.

Are blowfly larvae killed by Sevin?

I put the Sevin under the nest tray on Monday. Today I put a tiny amount in the seams of the nest tray, and then put the pine needles on top. Will see if I still have blowfly tomorrow or the next day.

I've heard that Sevin will kill the Blowfly Larvae if it is very young. However after it is a couple days old, then the Sevin does no good. CUL Lou
