Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

I have never heard of them roosting on a power line but they may be. What time of the day did you take the photos, or better yet, did you watch them spend the night there? I would think that they may go to the Houston roost at night.
