Hello to all,
Dropped my racks this weekend and here are the data. Going to give totals by rack this week followed by a grand total. Rack #1 - Three gourds with nesting material but empty, 27 eggs and 60 young. Rack #2 - all gourds with production, 35 eggs and 86 young. Rack #3 - 5 empty nests, 18 eggs and 62 young. Totals - 8 of 72 gourds (11 %) had some nesting but neither eggs/young, 80 eggs and 208 young. 288 fledges possible thus far. All math errors are mine. Had a ASY female remain in the gourd during the count. Finished the count, raised the rack and she stayed put. That's satisfying. Landlording is a kick! Next week I'm going to break out the plugs; some of the puppies may be reaching "jumping" age.
Later, Mike, Palm City, Florida
