Martin Colony History: First breeding pair in 2011. Site moved up hill 350 feet at beginning of nesting season
2019 to accommodate road construction.
Colony seems to have weathered the upheaval

Encountered two spots on the ground around T-4 and a Gourd Rack that are probably Martin feathers.
My first thought was premature fledglings attacked by hawk or owl . Possibly sub adults discouraging fledglings ? Unsure. Any thoughts?

Similar happened to me. It wasn’t martin feathers though. I thought that it was but it wasn’t. Happened that my neighbor had feeders and was feeding wild birds including black birds and black cow birds. There were so many of them. I’d find some feathers around the garden area and not far from the martin houses. I found a couple of sick black cow birds. They became prey to night time predators. I had posted on the forum pictures of the feathers I found and one of the members stated that it didn’t look like martin feathers which led me to conclude it was the black birds. Post a picture if you can.
