... Hello Everyone... The Subbies have arrived here in Southeastern, Ohio. The Subbies are making their presents known. Lot of picking at each other and trying to chase the older females and males from their selected gourds,, Always a great time when their arrive. My two gourd racks of 30 gourds are all full. So the Subbies are now looking at my two T-14 that are sitting about 40 feet away.. Enjoy your season....

Martin Colony History: 9 years of trying hard...finally in 2017 I had 3 pair w/ 11 babies. T-14 +4 w/ 4 Troyer horiz. gourds. Troyer Super System 24. Fast forward to 2020... 64 fledged.

Dave Reynolds.Good info. I'm guessing you're a record keeper. Are the subbies a bit late at your site? Our adults were a bit early up here.Really have been going through the meal worms keeping them going. Good luck on your season.

Martin Colony History: 2023 two gourd racks 24 gourds ,kept no records. Became an official landlord. 2024 28 gourds keeping records.

Dave, the battles are intense and often at my colony. I watched yesterday a battle to the ground with a bird pinned down for a long time. There was also about 8 birds hovering above them as if watching like a school yard fight after school. I’ll be glad when this settles down.
