Happy New Year!
A team of sponsors in Panama City will be hosting a free showing of Zach Steinhauser's feature length documentary "Purple Haze: A Conservation Film" on January 16th, 2025, at 6pm in the Gulf Coast State College Sarzin Lecture Hall. Any folks interested are encouraged to attend for a chance to meet Zach, other landlords, and prospective landlords in the Bay County (FL) area; and to learn more about purple martins and their incredible lives, journeys, and perils. BTW, the PCMA has graciously provided some copies of their "Purple Martin Update" magazines and other goodies to be given to attendees. We do ask that attendees register on Eventbrite so that we can make sure that we don't invite more people than we can seat. I'll try to attach a flyer with a QR code that takes you directly to the Eventbrite page for this free event.
We are hoping to increase the local knowledge of and appreciation for our favorite backyard birds in time for new landlords to get set up for this year. Thanks to Capt. Zach, the PCMA, and our local financial sponsors - the Panhandle (FL) Gator Club; Bay County Audubon Society; the City of Panama City Parks, Culture, and Recreation Department; and Gulf Coast State College. Hope to see some of you there if you can make it.
