I just put a 2"×2" ground stake in the ground. I'm not going to put the pole and gourd rack on until closer to next January. Should I put a cap over the top of the ground stake or no need? Thanks

Being a stake and not a sleeve, I would fill it with concrete, that's what I did with my gourd racks... I think the manufacturer's recommended it. I don't think there are any reason's you shouldn't cover it. Even if its just with a small trash bag or something.

Thanks. I did fill it with concrete. I plan to wait until much later to assemble, but I was bored and looked at the directions. I sure wished that Troyer would upload videos!

Can’t hurt to cover it with a zip lock bag or something. I’m not familiar with that rack.. I’m sure somebody on here will be able to help you..
Good luck,
Rob

There are not many Amish people uploading to the internet these days... It would be nice though, not sure if they would allow someone to make and post some videos on their behalf or not?Thomas Maddox wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 4:37 pmThanks. I did fill it with concrete. From what I've seen, the Amish are very fine people! I do respect their beliefs and wants for privacy. I just want a damn video. Lol

i cut the top off a plastic 20oz gatorade bottle and stick on it. fits perfectly.

i filled mine, but i still like to cover it to try to keep water from seeping in and freezing.
