How close does a water source have to be to your colony? I'm not sure where my PMs go, but there are a few ponds within 2 miles.

2 miles is plenty close enough. I am not sure what the surrounding area looks like but I bet in your part of the country if you look around on Google earth there is probably water sources closer that you never new about, that is just a guess, I could be wrong.

Definitely lots of water resources here in SWLA, I was just curious of their preferences. Thanks for replying!

.. I know that my houses are about 1/2 to 3/4 miles from the Ohio river.. But I’m sure they have found a few small ponds between the river and our houses.. I have read they will travel a mile or two for water if needed.. Good luck..

Lake Charles and Prien Lake appear to be close enough.

Dave those are 10+ miles away and are brackish water. There are several ponds within a few miles of my house. I was just curious.

Yikes on the distance and bracish water. I just took a quick look on google maps.
