I closed the vents as we have had a rough stretch of weather. In my second year and only have one pair to date. They have started constructing a nest. Waiting for SYs to arrive for the year here in SW Minnesota.
My question is - What temperature do you typically open the vents? FYI - I have vertical Troyer gourds.

Hi You Can now!!!! I have numerous Troyers gourds. Very important to vent them. In the hot sun they form Condensation.
I dont understand why people hang gourds and dont drill out the holes they place them then post in the form my chicks have all
jumped out gee i wonder why? Its a large plastic Jug in the hot sun Common sense you think.......And no holes.....poor birds just over
heat and jump. Im in the Northeast and along the cold North Atlantic water and all my gourds are vented. It still gets hot here.
