I noticed today that one of my females has been struggling to exit her SREH gourd. She has had no trouble in the past entering or exiting. All of the nest of my martin pairs have been completed for several days and I am thinking they are close to egg laying. My question, when the female is developing her eggs, will this cause her body size to increase just enough to cause difficulty with entering and exiting the SREH entrances.

Tim, do you have porches inside and outside, or what is your porch arrangement? If your porch arrangement is the same, she should have not more trouble entering or exiting, as they would then be the same

Emil, I have a porch on the outside of the gourd with traction tape on the inside. This particular female is a SY.
