What time of the day do you stop the dawn song and start the day time chatter CD.

Do you already own both? If not most people have luck with just the dawn song. If you want to try both I used play the dawnsong from about 4 AM to about 8-9AM. Then you could start the daytime chatter CD. That would more realistically mimic the martins natural behavior. However almost everyone on here will tell you no matter what time of day the dawnsong is playing if there are some martins out exploring the area they will drop by to see what is going on. It is not like they get scared off because it is playing at the wrong time of day.

If I was out during the day I would let it play but if I had martins come in for a visit I would turn it off because sometimes they seem to get confused and pre occupied with trying to see where the sound is coming from and not checking out the housing.
The purpose of the song is to lure them toward your property, once they are there it is up to you to have quality housing and a good location that they approve of. Open flyways is very important.
