In the 2nd picture, I think you can see the female's nictitating membrane or third eyelid. I imagine they use it a lot when flying so they don't lose focus on the bugs they are chasing. Just guessing. Does anyone know?

Ron fantastic! I have a lot of porch domination going on since I have side by side type housing. My colony is all ASY this year and the subbies are coming in "hot and heavy". John Barrow's report confirms this. Nice pictures. I'll probably post my pics of the aerial combat maneuvers.

No disrespect intended but that photo of the T14 covered in martins always makes me think of an Amish event, all those dark coats
