I am trying to get my gourds ready and one question I had is on the inner white skin that adheres to the gourd wall. Some of my gourds still have that attached and I am unsure what to do to remove it. I need to soak them in copper sulfate and don't know if you can do it with this skin still attached. I have tried to scrape it off but it is very difficult. Time is running out and I need to know how best to handle it.
Thanks for any help.

I just got into gourds last few years and have wondered about this too. You often just can't get it all, and I have doubts about the copper sulfate getting through it to the gourd wood. Get the top layers as best you can scrap it out without breaking the gourd. Concentate on the bowl as this is where rot might begin. I use a big spoon. Then soak for a good while -- I think folks say 30 min but I let some sit in the bucket longer.
