I had a friend that asked to see this clip that I was explaining that I used in a meeting recently. In the meeting, it was my goal to "sell" the need for new martin housing. There is no better way to "sell martins", than just by letting the martins do the talking.
Five minutes long... okay, maybe six .... hee, hee
Several clips just edited together for a way to bring an active colony inside to an indoor meeting in late winter. It was successful !!
Look for -- staging area for a premigratory roost, a young jumper and how nest checks are important for figuring out what to do, nest checks and different stages of developement, my active martin colony at home, the active public site at Bernheim Forest, and watch towards the end where a young martin steals a large dragonfly from an ASY male perched next to him.
