I think it's doing okay this morning. I made the post about the storage bins/feeding trays and porch dividers very late last night, and there are over 70 viewer to it at 9:45 am.

I must apologize for the frequent website failures lately. We are actively working with our web hosting provider to resolve this issue. This is certainly unusual and indicates something is buggy.

In the mean time, I have added to every script that uses the online databases to another script that will email me as soon as the database goes down. It will even email me at home if it happens outside of work hours. This alert system has proven handy several times already. I know within seconds to minutes (as long as I am at my computer). I have restarted our database from home several times.

Hopefully, our database will be fixed and become more stable very soon! In the meantime, the PMCA will continue to monitor the website closely.

Thank you for your patience,

Hi Pat,

Anyone who has spent any time at all around a computer knows the grimlins get into a system sometimes, and can be relentless for a while. You are doing a great job, and I for one really appreciate your service to the site.

Just thought you should know, I tried to log onto your site mudbug00 by clicking on your post above and my computer locked up and the only way I could do anything with it was to turn it off and completly re-boot.
Please check your end to see it is something on your end. You may contact me at the e-address on this post. Thanks, John King Athens Al.

ohn King back again, My apologies to Joe Zorn concerning the post above. I just tried clicking on my own e-mail address here and it did the same thing. Perhaps we could get Pat to look into it and see if there is trouble that can be corrected. Thanks in advance Pat I know you will check this. John King

Boy, We're getting a lot of milage on theis trial post, huh?

John, I clicked on my own address, and it went just fine to my email, then I clicked on yours, and it did the same. Might be your email program causing the problem, unless Pat did find something.

John, when you click on the emails on a website, your browser will call whatever program is set on your computer as the default email program. Most MS Windows systems come with Outlook Express, but it could be any number of other programs. My guess would be that your default email program is crashing your system or slowing it down so badly that it appears to be crashed.

If you use Internet Explorer, click on 'tools' and select 'internet options'. When the dialog box comes up, click on the 'programs' tab, there you will see your 'default email client'.

If you use a different browser than IE, you will have to refer to your help menu. You may want to refer the help menu of whatever program you use for email.

Before I used MS Outlook, I had to copy and paste emails from websites to my hotmail email forms (I believe browsers don't work with web-based email services).

John, I got an email from Louise yesterday, checking to see if her system was doing right. It came through okay for me. She said she was going to send you an email too. Did you get it okay?

I think Pat is on the right track. It sounds like this site is trying to get your email program to open, and its your computer is hanging up trying to do that.

I use Eudora Lite. A free download that has everything I want without buying the full version.

Hope you get it straightened out.
