Does anyone know if a 4 1/2 ft. 6" PVC pole guard placed in ground up the pole will be effective against raccoons? I know it works with snakes... I have a raccoon that raided a nearby bluebird house and am now worried it will move on to the martins next....

Racoons are really strong, might be able to keep enough pressure on the guard to prevent it from sliding down.
I wrap my guards with electric fence just to be on the safe side.

I think it would work for most raccoons. Some are really persistent and strong and smart.

I used a 5 foot section 6" pvc on my bird feeder and that seems to have finally defeated him.
