Yes that is cool, I put the marker right in the backyard. If I go to sreet view I can see the 2 houses I am replacing with T-14's . The pictures must be fairly old because I can also see Purple Martin's .

We are on the Maurice River. The Maurice is brackish and tidal. It meets the Delaware bay about three miles down at East Point, NJ. The area is remote and consists of dense marshland and swamp. Dragonflies abound.
Swallows arrive in mid August and finish nesting mid July. There is a large annual roost in mid August upriver a few miles at Mauricetown.

You are editing the Site title, not your individual colony site.
Try again paying close attention to editing your pinpoint marker.
When you place a marker it opens up a box for your information. And yes you need to hit save and done.
If on your next try you are still having trouble please let me know and I can help to get you on the map.

Ok, I know I did this last year, but I can't for the life of me remember how to create a new marker & place it. The top of the page says that I'm logged in as "[email protected]" and there's a "sign out" button, so it appears I'm signed in right?

Once you are in edit mode you click on the blue pinpoint marker and drag and then drop it on the location. It helps to zoom into the location as far as possible before adding.

I looked at your marker and I saw 3 markers by you. One out in the countryside east of Bismark, one next to the Missouri River. I deleted both of them and left the most current one in the yard of a large home in NE Bismark alone.

I am so sorry to have caused any problems. Now I see what the issue was. I had mine entered several times but could not see it from page one. I could only see my marker when on page 2. The marker was at the wrong place so I deleted that one too and re-entered hopefully at the correct location. Your comments about a large house flagged me to realize my marker was in the wrong place. ha ha.
Now I need to figure out how to zoom close enough to see my house in hopes I've flagged the correct location.

Now...back to waiting for the martins return.

Just click on the Square in the upper right corner that is labeled Satellite to change to that view and then use the slider button under the little person in the upper left corner to zoom out or in. You can move around with the control just above the person. I believe I can see your Martin house on the otherside of the driveway from your marker. Just use Edit, then click and drag the marker to the spot you want and release the button. Finally click save and done.
If you can't get it just let me know and I'll move it for you.

This is The Research Center colony site and is close to a great place to have martin classes in a classroom with a nice window viewing the colony and good for nest camera opportunities.

This is The Research Center colony site and is close to a great place to have martin classes in a classroom with a nice window viewing the colony and good for nest camera opportunities.

Oops; I must have done something wrong. I finally figured out how to get my colony marker on my location but my information is up on the left as a heading under Purple Martin Colony Map instead of down in the column along the left side, along with all the other landlords. Can someone help me and tell me what to do to fix this, so it doesn't look like I'm trying to run the web page?! Or does the page just list the most recently-entered person up there until someone else new registers after them? This is a great idea, but some step-by-step instructions at the beginning of the web page telling exactly how to register and enter a colony site would be helpful. I would never have gotten even this far without reading the 4 pages of Forum entries. Sorry for whatever I did wrong.

Yes, it does list the info correctly in the balloon that appears above my colony on the map. There were 2 places to enter the info on the Google website, so I entered it in both, because I wasn't sure where it was supposed to be typed.
