Here's an old trick I learned from my mentor that you may not have tried...take some dirt from your garden or where ever and mix in some water. A thick paint consistency will do. Then with an old paint brush paint the insides and around the entrance of each compartment and gourd to give it the appearance that it has been used before. From what I understand they like a darker compartment anyway. Clara made the comment that her houses "were clean for their arrival along with new nesting material." Give it a try!
