One of my failed weather nests is now having nesting material brought in by a pair of Great Crested Flycatchers. It is a large horizontal with a round hole.
I've got several nest box traps and have cleaned out the starlings in the neighborhood. I'm wondering if the competiton for nesting sites among larger secondary cavity nesters with starlings pushed them into my yerd where there is no competition. The PMs seem to ignore them and vice versa. I hope they pull it off but they are very shy and the site gets a lot of traffic. Their song sure is nothing to brag about.
