Well, our sy pair have attracted several more martins today. Off and on all day there have been 5 to 6 additional birds checking out the house and gourds. One must be an ASY male. He is totally BLACK. So far, none have conquered the SREH but they keep trying.

The first pair started building a nest in earnest yesterday. Guess they sent out the word they needed company. "He" has been very aggressive in protecting the gourd where the nest is. Several times he and another bird have gone to the ground. But the new ones just keep coming back.

Here's hoping at least one of the new pair decide to stay!!
