Does any one know where I can get a sparrow trap quickly? I'm not having much success with my pellet gun, and I don't want the PMs to be run off (or worse). I could build one if I had some pics, or even better, some plans.
Thanks

The PMCA sells traps, but I do not know how long it takes them to ship as I have never ordered anything from them. Here is their site for the traps.

try doing a search on google. Maybe some site will have an overnight delivery.

What kind of traps are you looking for? Nestbox traps? Repeating bait traps? What kind of housing do you have? Traps are available for most types of cavities. They work very well as long as the sparrows are nesting. I ordered a supergourd trap from a place in Pennsylvania, not PMCA, and had it in 4 days. Spare-o-doors for Trio houses are very effective and I can find them locally in wild bird stores. When I ordered from PMCA it took about a week or so to get my order. Good luck. I'm with you on those sparrows.

Rolo27. I'd check at wild bird store. Specifically Wild Birds Unlimited, if you have one of them close by. I've ordered a few things from the PMCA, and they were fairly quick delivery. You might call them, and ask for expedited shipping. Probably cost a bit more, but might be worth it. Also, check on Ebay. Just put in the search box "Purple Martin" (no quotation marks) There may be quite a few, but you should find something. Lots of times there are "Buy this item now" sales. Good Luck. CUL Lou

Thanks for the input... I am not sure what kind of house I have. I am a novice at this and bought a house at Lowe's. It is an octagon shaped house with 8 compartments. I'm not sure of what size the compartments are, but I would guess about 6" X 8". It has a conical top that is separate from the house (it stays on the pole while lowering house. The house does have crescent openings, & I do not have a starling problem. But I am still tearing out sparrow nests daily, and they keep building a new one every day.
Thanks again
Thanks again
rolo27,
It sounds like your house could be a Trio mini-castle. If that's the case, the spare-o-door would be great for you. You might think it's a little expensive but it's oh so worth it once you start trapping those infernal house sparrows. You just change the existing door for the trap door on the compartment they're nesting in. Leave the nesting material in the compartment, set the trap, and you'll have those #@*!s in a few minutes.
If your house is not a Trio brand, this door won't fit it. Do a little detective work and find out what kind you have. You've got to get rid of the sparrows.
