I did a nest check about seven days ago and did a count in each gourd, today did another count and there were no eggs in one of the gourds that had four eggs seven days ago. I found one egg on the ground with a hole in it. There have been several SY males around going in and out when they can, and is it possible for them to do this. I have snake guards and have kept a close watch with nothing unusual happing.

I know that starlings and sparrows do that, but I am not sure about SY males. Sy males do throw out babies, that happened at my place this year. Down my street, the neighbors do not control starlings and sparrows, and I regularly find martin eggs beside the road.
I am not sure if SY males toss out eggs either, perhaps Steve K or someone else would know. It does appear that a new martin egg has appeared in a Supergourd where a clutch of five eggs went missing over the last two weeks.
