The first Martins at DAK fledged today. The whole colony gets excited. It is such a wonder to see them on their first flight. They are a little bit unsteady at first but in a very short time they are flying like pros. Pretty good for their first time out. They were even able to get back to the martin house and into their own compartment on the first try. Very impressive. The sad part is that it means they will be leaving soon. Still I love to see the little ones take their first flight.

Don't you just love it when they fly for the first time and make it back o.k.
Glad you were able to see it. I wonder who was happier you or the parents.

Thanks for sharing, love your pictures.
