Martin Colony History: First started in Gretna, La in 1969 with a small homemade house, have had martins ever since at 2 different homes in Texas

Would it be easy to build a small wooden box for a trap, and make the dimensions so that a Trio Spare-O-Door could be attached to the front of it? I understand it is very good way to catch sparrows, so if you don't have a Trio house, would it not work like that?

I never have owned a Trio house or trap, but this idea should be a cheap way to get the trap, and make it work if you don't have a house to mount it.

This would be a good use for some of the old abandoned houses which have become sparrow homes. The Spar-O-dor works!!! I just removed a sparrow a few minutes ago and added him to my list of over 15. Expect another visitor in a few more minutes.

The Trio Spare-O-Door is a highly effective HOSP trap. However, it is much more effective when multiple doors are used in a martin house.
