My scout arrived on 3/29 but have not seen it for several days. I'm getting quite concerned. Starlings and swallows around and building, but I remove their nests daily, sometimes twice. I haven't seen any SAs yet. Yesterday I had an osprey acting strangely and when I used field glasses, could see that he had what was probably a grackle in his talons...I've never seen that! Has anyone else? I wonder if it's possible my Scout has fallen to predation by a hawk. If the Scout is truly gone, how will that affect the return of the rest of the clan? Need some reassurance here...I couldn't bear a summer without my martins.

They come & Go...that is what they do...if you can play the dawnsong and place a few decoys on your housing...both of these are Great Martin attracting tools...Good luck this season.

KC....Thanks for responding and you were correct. He's back and along with him is a girlfriend! It was such a pleasure to wake up to their sweet chatter this morning!
