I was watching some robins this morning (out the window), I saw a single male PM land on the perch atop the house. He jumped down to the side that I couldn't see -- I *think* he checked out compartments 1 and 4, based on the little bit of feather movement that I did see. Before I could get outside to get a good look at him, he was gone. Don't know if this is good or bad; but in any case, I've seen my first one.
I'm glad I did all that research and work yesterday to get the house ready, LOL.

Ye gad, you're up near Bartimore, aren't you? Congratulations. More should be arriving soon.
I have Tree Swallows everywhere, the Barn Swallows just arrived, Bluebirds are starting to build nests and House Sparrows are getting trapped in box traps but still no Martins here. My housing is up but most compartments sealed until the compeditors settle in their housing or until I see a Purple Martin.

Patti,
Congrats on that sighting! I can relate that that is one of the best feelings in the world...at least for me it is. It's so great to see that first martin and watching more and more come in doesn't get old either. I hope you have a great season!
