Look at the SCOUT REPORT.... There are 2 more sightings for Florida!

Deltona (29 miles north of me) and Babson Park (77 miles south) both reported Martins on the 3rd. This is soooooooo early! I sure hope everyone is getting ready.... "Company's coming" sooner than expected!

I wonder what's going on to cause this!

K.C., no I didn't know you were from Florida. Yes, this is the time of year when I'm glad I live here too. It's so much fun to be among the first in the country to enjoy our beautiful birds! And the winter weather (such little that we have) is great.

The return of "The King of the Skies" is nigh..... Hope everyone is getting their homes in order!

Hey guys,

We hit a balmy 83 degrees in the Big D. The weather's been nice and unseasonably warm but the lack of rain(i.e. big time drought) has me worried that the insect population will be very minimal unless we get a big gift from the 'rain gods'. I don't recall that we've received more than one inch since August or maybe September. Pray for rain real soon or the martins in north Texas and Ok could very well suffer.

Happy New Year to all!

Dale

Dale, I have been thinking the same thing. The sad part is I hear that the drought there will not be ending anytime soon. I hope I heard wrong.
