Foosmom,
I read back in Aug.That you were talking about putting up a pole
for your birdhouse, you also said that you could use your old satellite dish
pole, then you lol.But don't laugh because you can take that old dish and make a nice gourd rack out of it with just a little work.If your dish
is the type that has the wire mash. Once you stripe it all down and you
just have the aluminum circle with the cross members it doesn't weigh
much at all. You can run it up and down a pole with just a pulley and rope.
And you don't need a big 3 or 4 in. pole to put it on.If you e-mail me I will send you pictures of the one I made.It will hold 24 gourds easy.

Don, that is very creative. I would like to see a picture of that myself.

what a waste of a big dish! i use mine to watch tv  FAR superior to little dish!

but, if you aren't going to use it for tv, i suppose using it for martins is the next best thing.

Leave the dish as is, just point it straight up and remove the feedhorn. Add a little water and voila!

Just add a few rocks and smear on some caulk for the cracks that may eventually develop. Thank you Primestar!
