The last nest of young fledged monday.This is the latest that I have had martins to fledge so far.
I had 53 nest attemps. Up from 37 last year, offered same amount of gourds as last year. I think I'll try to stay around 50 pairs.I don't know how many fledged, I've been so busy this season I just did'nt have time to work with them like I have in the past, But I know there are a few more young martins out in the world that came from my site. The hawks really do work on them from time to time that's why I'm going to stay around 50 gourds, I think any more would just be asking for more trouble.
As of last night still had 20 or so coming in at night. again this late in the year for me. The last 4 years they have allready left by this time. So this has been a long season for me showed up 2 weeks early, and now have allready stayed 2 weeks later.
