Does anyone know of a Roost in the Fayette County area? Around La Grange Texas. Thanks

There are two roosts visible on radar within an hour's drive of La Grange. One is located to the northeast near Bryan or College Station. The other is located west in the Kyle - Mountain City - Buda area.

Patrick, I have a fair size La Grange colony that finally finished dispersing in early August, but I'm unaware of a roost site nearby. Another roost site is in North Austin, https://travisaudubon.org/purple-martin-parties.

The link below is the NIDS Products page under the radar tab from the Plymouth State University weather center. To find a roost ring, fill in some of the boxes as described below. The other boxes can stay as they are.
Radar Site: in the drop down list click on the radar site nearest you; for La Grange, Texas, that could be a couple sites but for example choose New Braunfels AP/Austin-San Ant TX (EWX).
Day: Choose today's date, for example Aug. 13, or a previous day
Hour: choose 12 Z
Minute: choose 30
Output Type: choose 25-frame GIF Loop
Center: type in the EWX acronym from the radar site box
Zoom: I usually select "zoom by 50%"
Then click on the tab "click here to view map" to see the radar animation from that morning. It takes a few seconds for the animation to load.
