PM babies deformed beaks
I have one nest with four babies that all have deformed, short and crusty looking top beaks. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this. Is this a genetic problem or should I be concerned? They seem to be growing, obviously they’re still able to eat however, I imagine they are going to have troubles as adults. Has anyone else seen this or does anyone know what this could be?
I posted earlier a concern that I had about a late nest of 3 chicks. One had obvious signs of what could be Avian Pox. I noticed it had growths around its eyes and beak. At closer look I could see that it was still able to see and was eating like the other 2 siblings. I believe that they have all fledged today. But I did bring up the issue of Avian Pox. Look it up. There are articles on it. I’m not saying that that’s what it is but it’s the closest thing that I discovered in relation to what I observed here.
