I may jinks myself but it seems that the hawks that decimated my fledglings last year appear to have moved on to greener pasture. I have not witnessed a single attempt so far this year. My problem is that i leave soon for a mission trip to Brazil and I'm afraid that the bulk of my young will begin to fledge heavily while I'm gone. But hopefully my luck will hold out and the hawks wont return at all this year. Last year is wasn't uncommon to see 3 to 4 hawks sitting on the power line tower next to my property just waiting for an unskilled fledgling try for his or her first flight attempt. If any of the fledgling's failed in their attempt and landed in the fields beneath the towers they were dead in seconds. I hope everyone is having an awesome Martin season. ((PS)) I stopped in at Jerral Johnson's Worlds Largest Purple Martin Colony about a month ago. I spoke with a family member that stated that Jerral and his wife were not in good health Please remember them in your prayers. The Johnson family has done a lot for the PM community for many decades. If you have never witnessed this amazing colony its a once in a lift time adventure and well worth the trip.

God bless
