Does your colony seem to stay together? Around noon(when I'm not working), they all seem to be hanging out together at there house/ gourds. In the evenings, they circle above my property together before going into their house.

Well here it depends on how far along they are in cavity selection. Early on its pick a house, go eat, straight to bed. No socializing.
Later, as more show and homes are ironed out lots of socializing goes on. They take off in the am, fly around a bit then settle back down to talk amongst them selves and gossip.
After 12 or so, they are all gone and its a ghost town.
One thing I noticed is when subbies arrive, especially the females the resident female will be back and in her cavity to defend it. Most of the time her mate does NOT help, he is trying to attract the new females. They are dogs.
Lots and lots of energetic subbies now, ASY males seem to tolerate some of their $hit, then just jump on them and take them to the ground. Kinds like a back hand i guess.
They do copy one another, if a female starts to get nest material, they all seem to need it too!

Yeppers sir..now 3 or 4 more new males. One looks like a female, dead white brest but has a few spots. They play "house" when the residents are gone.
Iv only one cavity for them, if that pair that was hogging 3 (now down to two) cavities relinquishes one.
Plenty of room 2.2 miles away at the preserve, think there's 6 rooms open still.

Agree with Tom.. their behavior changes as the season progresses.. right now, eggs have been laid.. hatching should start in about a week or so.. so they are quieting down a bit.. except for the 5 to 6 SYs.. they’re always making a racket!

Agreed with others on time of season...Pairing up, figured out who has what mate and gourd, and collecting leaves, oyster shell, and nesting materials here...SY's arrives typically this week or next and all hell getting ready to break loose.
