Well, I certainly hope everyone has a successful & exciting season ahead now that our PM’s are starting to return.
Quick ?…. I’ve heard different opinions about when the right time is to open up the cavities. Can someone please give clarity on this subject? Thx from RI in advance:)

Suppose it depends on your sparrow or starling pressure. And when your martins returned last year.
Generally, folks will open a few cavities a week or more in advance of arrival. Some to trap those HOSP and starlings before martins arrive.
As martins start to show, they open more and more.
Me, I put them all up and open them about a month out. Thats just me, iv a public site to see to...helps me work out the details, see if all is ready and adjust as necessary. Dang good thing too, this year they showed up a month early.
Best bet, look at your arrival date and watch for local reports.
Hope this helps
Tom
