Hi Thomas. I use live crickets from fluker farms, that I freeze and then thaw in very warm water, before putting in compartments and porches. Agree, the martins don’t look as bad as I thought. I’m wondering if the sunny blue skies, today, got the insects going a bit, even with the unseasonably low temps.

I was thinking (hoping) the same thing. I'm really hoping Saturday gets close enough to 50(and not too much rain) to get them to Monday. We are trying

Hi Brent. I haven’t lost any is of yet. I will check compartments in a bit to reload crickets. I can only assume the martins are eating them, since the crickets are all gone when I go to reload. Great job on your flipping success! I assume you haven’t lost any? Saturday seems decent but no feeding Sunday. All day rain with temps in high 40s now. Forecasters, and I use that term lightly, changed Sunday forecast again , for the worse.
Good luck
Rob

I found an ASY male on the road close to my house. Mine wouldn't eat yesterday, so by the time I get home it will be at the 72 hour mark. I'll try again

CC, unfortunately it was. The only dead one I've found though! I didn't have luck flipping again today, but i had 6 fly in to their house today near dark. 39° . Cloudy. Windy. They looked ok. Who knows...

Dang sorry. After the 2021 vortex id find them dead in some strange places. Under rocks in back (they are big, big rocks), under bushes etc. None in the houses. Hope that's the one and only sir.
That they are flying and not leaping from the gourds and crashing is good. We have the same weather pattern, upper level low brushing the coast will pump cold air, wind on us and light rain until late Sunday. These birds can't get a break.

I woke up this morning hoping the weather forecast changed, but nope. Looks like about a 4 hour window of possible feeling with cloudy skies and a high of 45 at best. Hopefully, they can hang on for another 24 hours or so.
