We have one baby who’s not fledging yet. His/her siblings fledged at least 5 days ago. I’ve never seen this before. My experience has been a gap I’d maybe a few days from start to finish. Has anyone experienced this big of gap. The parents are feeding every once in a while. But they spend all day trying to get it out.

I have experienced this. It seems to me the largest
Chick gets the 1st feeding always and on down the line. I have had a weeks difference from 1st to last fledge but mostly 2 days.

Congrats! I’ve had that situation before, where one chick is way behind the others fledging… the parents will come back a few times a day to feed him, but not very often. They want to keep the straggler somewhat hungry, so his desire to feed eventually brings him out.. glad it turned out well.. I know it’s a great relief when he finally flies..
Congrats again!

That was the exact pattern here. Parents feeding was limited..
