With already posted sightings in my area...but I personally hasn't seen any at my site. I've seen barn swallows in my area. Today, I saw a group of birds with the flying characteristics of martins very high up, too high to even hear vocalizations. My questions is were these martins or barnies and do barnies feed at high altitudes? Thanks

I've seen those same type of birds. Look close and you'll see that their flight pattern is different and they are smaller. If it's the same type of swallow here in coastal Louisiana. I think the are Northern Rough-Winged Swallows.

Probably tree swallows. Fly in large groups migrating back north to nest.
