Today several of the PMs are skimming the water around our boat house. I don't remember seeing this before. They look like they are fresh out of the nest. I usually find one or two drowned PMs around the boat dock every year, but did not know they did such risky behavior until just now.
I looked it up. PMs drink by skimming the surface of rivers or lakes. Our house is on a bay and the water is mostly salty sea water. I suppose it could be brackish on top after some rain we had yesterday. Interesting.
