Its getting crazy here with about 120 purples now. The last two days i fed them about 5 pounds of crickets and meal worms.
Me nests checks show they are making dams with the needles although they dont need them with the inserts i have.
Its going to be wild when the subbies arrive because there will be about another hundred then. I want to wish good luck to all of you and especially anyone thats trying to establish a new colony

Martin Colony History: After two years of trying and waiting, we finally got our first pair on May 9, 2017. Thank You Lord!

Crazy, I live in SW Ohio, not terribly far from you...at least same state. This is my 5th year trying to attract my first PM with no success. Am I reading the study right i.e. have the subadults only gotten as far as Knoxville TN?

That's the way it looks, Vince. Unless there are people who aren't reporting, which is always a possibility. I'm waiting in Wisconsin for them, too.

Martin Colony History: new in 2017, but ready for lots of birds. 44 gourds and 40 t14 style holes
2019 more visitors than in the past and a long suffering SY male. each year enhancing the site and hoping for the future.

Just tell those subbies to head north when they arrive! I'm ready and waiting. I see a subbie report in Hillsborough, Ohio this am. I'll keep you posted, Dick.
