2021......to be seen.
24 natural gourds on a satellite rack,9 other gourds scattered around
2-12 compartment trio houses
Rarely see a sparrow or starling, but when I do they don’t last long!
Will have a second satellite rack for the 2022 season and phase out the houses, the martins here strongly prefer natural gourds.
Congrats punky !! I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll get started this year! Dave and Dave and smiths,Louise here’s the 2019 setup ready and waiting,

PMDavid, your site looks very promising. If you haven't done so yet please put some predator guards on your poles. Best of luck to you in 2019!

Thanks Dale,I don’t have any guards yet but I may handle up on that shortly. We probably have about four weeks before birds, and I have 2 killer cur dogs in the yard! Critter killers! That pic is terrible, gonna see if I can post a differ not size.
I just came here on a whim - to see if there was anything new - never dreaming there would be someone saying they had purple martins already! I am so excited! Makes it feel like it won't be that long before we hear/see them again in Wisconsin......even tho it'll be probably 3 months. haha!
Tell me, please.........when they come to you now - when do they leave? Do they stay until July or August and do they have more than one batch of babies?
Enjoy!

I have Martins for 6 months. They start leaving in June but some stay into July. As for more than one clutch, I'm not sure. Seems that way sometimes, but it could be a different pair that came in late and was lucky enough to find room at the inn, so to speak. Haha! My houses and gourds are always full. Whether it's different pairs comming and going as the season goes on, I don't know.BillieJR wrote: I just came here on a whim - to see if there was anything new - never dreaming there would be someone saying they had purple martins already! I made my scout report before I posted to the forum. "Punky" is a stupid screen name I started using years ago on social media. My real name is Vickie Maust.
