Wow, Wisconsin!!
I see 15 purple martin landords reported their martins returned on yesterday, alone! And my friend, who does not report on here, told me lastnight that he, too, had 5 come in yesterday to his place so that makes 16 that I know of! I'm just in awe - 16 landlords - on one day!!! I still haven't seen any and the weather is still not good here for them. I hope everyone is successful in keeping them alive. I know Ed will be taking good care of his.

Just been totally crazy with the weather I have 2 adult males in a winter storm along with all the other Wisconsinites I'm only able to feed by tossing crickets and eggs, problem is 50 mph winds don't help, visibility with snow fall is maybe 200 yards everything is frozen, houses will not go up or down I lucked out I have my house sitting around 10 feet off the ground I use an 8 foot ladder to clear out the entrances, birds look ok we are now told this will last through Monday.

Boy the drive to get home is so strong. The weather is terrible for a long way yet they fly through it all. hats off to all the LLs who flip crickets in the cold/snow and sleet to keep the birds alive till it breaks. Best wishes and prayers with those Northern LLs.

I hear ya, asop! Seems like we were never going to get the birds back this spring! Hopefully you'll see a or some Martins in the next few days. I often wonder if maybe they're around here and I'm just not looking at the right time to see them but who knows. I'm just so glad I finally saw them yesterday. They didn't stay but hey - I saw them. That's progress, right?

Hi everyone. I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like. We had a horrible artic vortex last year that lasted almost a week and lost many birds. I hope and pray it all gets better for you. I tried but couldn’t get the birds to take the food I flipped to them. I hope the weather improves for you and our precious martins. Brent in SE Louisiana

first sign of life here in western Wisconsin with a sighting of tree swallows flying around but as of today no Martin's yet. Cold temps, snow, rain, thunderstorms tomorrow, and a heavy dose of wind! be lucky to see a PM this year!
