I have a question. Can purple martins see at night when flying? I have a great horned owl flush out one of my purple martins one night. The PM flew out of the martin house and flew away. So my question is: Can they see enough at night to fly to some trees for safety? P.S.

I'm a PM novice but I would think their night vision was OK since they fly around singing the dawn song a couple of hours before sunrise.
