Hello all. Just wanted to share that I now have 2 male and 1 female martins. Started out with 1 male that showed up a couple of days ago and this morning I was lucky enough to witness the females arrival. She immediately vocalized, joined the male and started inspecting her house. She went straight to a 7 story goliad house! Tonight they were joined by the second male and immediately the two males started to fight over her. I know I don't post much but I do visit the site on a daily basis. Enjoy following everyone and seeing the various members have great success. I had a banner year last year with 176 pairs. Hoping to maintain that number and not grow much more, offering 208 cavities. Anyway just wanted to share my early season because I know I enjoy reading others this early in the season. Good luck this year.
A.P., if you read this the martins landed on your house today. Will send you pictures when I have the house completely done.

I was hoping the strong south winds would bring them in to North Texas but, alas I am not so fortunate. Thanks for the report. I look forward to more posts about your colony this year.

I have 3 7 story goliads, 2 double alamos (that's two Alamo houses stacked on top of each other, another single Alamo, 2 trio castles, 24 unit gourd rack and all houses have 4 Troyer horizontal gourds hung under them. I also have a couple of trio houses dericated to trapping sparrows. I think I have around 14 spar o doors in use.

Will do. I actually replaced one of my wooden houses with the one you gave me and I am sending my wooden house to Galveston to start up a new colony at a house a block off of the sea wall.
