I figured it out!

Emil my shed is white. In the middle of picture. I couldn't figure out the arrow to point it out. But you can get an idea of how much farmland I have here. My poles are out by the power pole with transmitter on it. I appreciate your help!

Yes Emil there's a lot of farmland around me. So I would say yes there is plenty of fields for them to feed. They just won't stick. I've has an ASY male with a SY female visiting two times yesterday and Twice today. Not real sure if there's anything to it but it's nice they seem interested a little. I'm just going to have to wait until a pair needs a home. My site looks good and inviting so it's up to them. Thanks for supporting me. I'm ready but their not. Lol

Your place still sounds great, I think that you will succeed, it helps so much to have an open space with good feeding acreage nearby. The phrase "dense woods" bothered me, but I think that you are in good shape

Looks reasonably open according to your pics. Do you have grain fields like that on past the trees? Where is you main water supply and or the barrow pit from your site? My Dad's site was in a clearing right in the middle of a dense forest. However he was right on the river with 2 huge Electric Towers the Birds just loved. There was farm land and pasture land about 1/2 mile from him.
I do hope you get some Martins this year. Maybe - just maybe the roofer's will help bring them in. Try playing some soothing music or Country music in the afternoon. Then for a few days don't play anything at all. You know Mix it up...
Your site looks Great. No reason you shouldn't be drawing in some Birds that I can see .

Yes Rodger look at the attachment picture at the top of this page. My shed is white. It's in the middle of the picture and the poles are north of the shed. They are placed where the yard ends and the field starts. If you zoom in the green house and garden are north of the shed and the poles are east of that. The barrow pit is behind the shed and I have a pond west of me then the river 3/4 mi. Should be Martin heaven. It will happen someday. I know you would give me some but it just doesn't work that way. I want to earn them on my own! I've accomplished a lot of things in my life and this task is just another challenge. If it's meant to be it will happen! That's for your support.

Well thanks Okie. I try to keep the faith. Sometimes it's hard. I have said a few things to myself when they visit then fly off. Like go choke on a bug! Lol keeping a positive attitude is the only way. Thanks for the support!

I posted a reply earlier today about 1:00 p.m., but I don't see it. Wonder what happened to it?
I see your white shed and to the left what looks like your green house on your map. Where is (your Home) in the pic?
Is it the one building on the far left? And my question is are all those trees between your house and the Martin Site?
If so - Don't know, but if your house is that far away, and all those trees are between you and the Martin site they may feel isolated.
Not only do Martins like to nest with other Martins, but they also like the presence of man. I had a friend that had and old Martin Rack 5 or 6 feet from his back door. I didn't think they would nest so close to people, but he did have a lot of Birds
His old Rack consisted of about 4 or 5 telephone poles with 2 X 4's crossing it. He hung all natural Gourds from the 2 by's.
I remember his wife even had vines growing on the Rack. But the Birds just flocked to it - try to figure that one out.?

No my poles are in the back yard behind my house and no the trees are not in between. i am 150' from the trees to the south and 200' from the trees to the west. My poles have all 4 flyways open. You are looking at the neighbors buildings. The trees are between me and the neighbors. The green house is so small unless you zoom in you can't see it. Hope this helps.

O.K. I did zoom in. What I'm looking at now looks like a Grain Silo. Where are you from that Silo?

My oh my Rodger, we need to get you an eye doctors apt. Lol That grain silo is my house The white shed behind my home is my shop where I work. That white truck in the driveway is mine. The green house and garden is the small square north of the shed . My martins poles are out in the back yard east of the small garden. Along the edge of the yard and where the field starts. They are in the most open part of the back yard. I tried to keep them fairly close to me. They are 92' north of my shed. I have a pair that been visiting often. But idk. Not jumping the gun!

I just had a complete extensive eye exam at the new VA HOSP. In Charlotte,NC about 2 weeks ago. I know my eyes can't be that bad LOL.! I could have swore that was a grain silo with elevator. Looking closer I can see where it could be a house.
I think the shadows and not zooming in threw me off.
My daughter is suppose to show me how to post pics with this I-Pad and new Lap top. We got the Lap Top end of February and had it back to Best Buy 4 times so far. I'll have her show me how to do the arrows too. Then I can show you some pics of my site, and hopefully an aerial of the farm.
Did complete nest check yesterday. I nest = 6 eggs, 1 nest 5 eggs, 2 nests 4 eggs, 2 nest 3 eggs, 2nest 2 eggs, and 1 nest 1 egg.
That's 30 eggs so far - I'm Happy!! Last Sunday I only had 1 nest with 3 eggs. I play Country music for my Birds in the afternoon and it made a big differance - from 3 to 30 in 1 week. Mom was right birds like music.
It really is a help to me since I installed Hex drive winches on my Poles. I feel like I have a lot more awareness of what's going on at my site. When I had the old lean down type poles, if I did do nest checks I dreaded it, now it's a breeze... Just take the drill out and let the racks down nice and easy - no strain, no problems, no hassel. Gee I wish I'd done it years ago!!!
From what I see your site looks wonderful for Martins. I'll keep praying that you get some Birds real soon.!
Remember, I put my old Racks up for over 20 years and never did more than a dozen Birds.

I had no where to go to get information and support. That's two things you have going for you. The Internet for information and support from this Forum. You have made a lot of friends, be thankful for them.
One day you will get your Birds, and when you do you will be so Happy!!! You will be Blessed, and it will happen...
