Some advice from seasoned landlords please:

What are the benefits of a Gemini 24 (3" pole) and a Super Rack 24 (3" pole). I know the gemini is round, where the super rack has 1 1/2 angle iron arms....

Both have brake winches too with cable.

Which do you prefer?

Tim, I'm not very seasoned (LOL)...but I just added a new Gemini this year to my site and love it. I chose it over the Super 24 mainly because I liked the way the Gemini looked better. But also because of the Gemini being a little more compact (5' rings compared to 4' arms=8'). I wish I had both in order to give you a better comparison. Davis

Thanks D.....

I like the gemini too. But, I like the super rack because I can modify for a feeding tray it looks like. I don't really see a way to do it on a gemini.

But, I agree, I like the look of the gemini best. It just looks like it heavy duty and would withstand these Texas sized thunderstorms we sometimes get (complete with high wind).....

It is sturdy and a very complete kit. It would be easy to add a feeding tray on one of the vertical angle arms that go straight out from the hub in the center or the rings. If you are ever in the Tyler area, your welcome to come look at it. Here is a pic...the only thing I added was the decoys and the perch rods on the ring:

I appreciate your offer. I do sometimes get to Commerce because my neice/family are located there (she's the only grandchild and only heir for my entire family-poor kid!!at least she's highly educated).

I would love to see your set-up but don't know if I will be in the area before I set up my own because my mom is having surgery soon and want to make sure she is doing well. (I'm a Registered Nurse-so I have the need to watch after things lol).

I see you went all horizontal: is there a reason?

Only half of them are horizontal Tim (Troyer Verticals also have a tunnel/porch). The gourds are alternating Troyer Horizontal and Troyer Vertical (12 & 12). Prayers for your mom...I understand, my wife is also in the medical field. If need anymore pics or info, feel free to email me at [email protected] and I can send them to you.

If you do nest checks the round racks are great!

Tim I have both the Gemini and Super 24... Though the Gemini is my favorite, I like that you can alternate the gourds direction on the 24's arms. I believe it gives them a little more distance between cavities to choose...nest checks aren't that bad.. :)

DAH.....shows how close I was looking at the gourds (that's because I've already spent a few weeks mulling over and utilizing many brain cells deciding what's best for my attempt-I don't have many of those to spare lol). I'm gonna do the same thing you are.

I was looking at the braces on your gemini.

I just sent you a email.....

Thanks Tony.

That's what I need-I want to face the gourds in mainly two directions: east and south toward their open fly away areas.

Did you buy both your gemini and super racks as a complete set up? I know the PMCA store does not have those.

It's gets a lil difficult to communicate tid-bits about who/where relating to 'vendors' since it's against forum rules to post such things.

Any modifications needed to face gourds only two directions?

Thanks
Tim

Bob, I used some stainless "L" brackets that were given to me years ago (they were used for some kind of telecom equipment) with 3/8" aluminum rod 32" long and the u-bolts/nuts from some 3/8" cable clamps.

Yes Tim, bought as a set on both..the gourd hanging arms allow you to face the gourds in opposite directions..I always have problems posting pics on here or I would post a pic of the rack..I do believe Steve K. has a pic of the rack on here some where..

Tim -
Here's a picture of my super system.

I love it. I can face the gourds 3 different directions on each arm. The arms are very heavy metal and don't bend. The pole is 3" square aluminum and won't bend in these Missouri winds.
