I've got 3 fleglings that are coming home every night. They are not with any adult birds. I'm afraid they are going to miss the bus if they wait much longer. Should I close up the houses and force then to move on and hope they catch up with migration?
Everything else has been gone for 2+ weeks.

- Martin Colony History: 24 Super and Excluder Gourds on two gourd racks, all SREH. Full occupancy. My philosophy is to maximize fledge % with existing cavities rather than adding gourds to grow colony, thus providing opportunities for new colony expansion. Fledge over 100 nestlings yearly from 24 gourds. Band nestlings in cooperation with state university. 2019 Adendum: Reduced colony size to 12 gourds to focus on more intensive management regimen.
No need to worry about them. They can be 100s of miles south of you in a day. I have had martins visit into September.I have not seen or heard a martin in the last two days and I now have a dozen perching on the gourd racks.
