I have a LOT of martins dive bombing and buzzing around my martin houses making all kinds of racket. My mama and papa birds are trying to drive them off. There are babies in the houses almost ready to fledge out. It's a swarm of them every morning and now continues into the afternoon. I don't know where all these martins are coming from, but it is a bunch of them. I would think that it is stressing the nesting pairs out. It does me. What kind of behavior is going on here?

My guess is that it's fledglings coming by to visit. My place is covered in the evening with fledglings that come in for the night. You can tell they really are "brand new"!

ha ha. I cannot wait to see the fledglings buzzing around. It sounds like you have quite an interesting show they are putting on for you.

Peggy, I bet you have a lot with that many pairs of martins. How awesome.
