Hawk and PM Game

This happened last night,when the birds showed up to get ready to roost with their circling of the site and those last few bug captures,things were not unfolding as the norm usually did.I had been having some hawk issues and the PM's were skittish.I had about twenty birds that kept diving out of sight on the front side of the house,after about five minutes of this I went around to look.There was a hawk in a tree across the street.They pestered that hawk until he flushed and then give him hell.He kept coming back and they kept flushing him out of the tress and chasing him off.He would land in different trees but they were watching for him and the game would start again and again..When it got close to dark a few birds would sneak into their cavities while the others chased the hawk .They did this until all came in except four and they kept harassing the hawk.I came in the house with a few minutes of daylight left,I suppose the hawk gave up at dark and the last PM's went to bed..
